Campaigns

Writers and others began to publicise the conditions faced by Africans, European sailors and made people aware of the injustice of the slave trade.

     

The full tour includes a visit to The Seven Stars, the pub in which Thomas Clarkson collected sailors stories about the Middle Passage, and the Meeting Houses used by the Quakers and the Methodists in central Bristol.
