4. Assessment
You will need to decide if young people and children will be allowed to choose to navigate their own way around the Bristol slavery trail, or if you wish to concentrate on particular sections or activities. Some of these activities may be completed by the children as they work on line. On line activities sometimes offer immediate feedback to the children on whether they have completed the activity successfully. In general tasks and activities offer some comprehension and some skills and concepts based elements, and thus not all activities offer online feedback, making it necessary for you to monitor what individuals have achieved and offer appropriate feedback.

Most activities can be downloaded and completed on paper, allowing flexibility of approach and assessment. Several of the activities are also designed to generate discussion and it might be useful if children worked at screens in pairs or in threes at for these activities. Some teacher or other adult guidance in introducing the activities may be necessary, along with support as the children complete the activities. In particular, teachers may need to read through eighteenth century documents before the children begin working on them.
