The History Footsteps initiative sees the VCH journeying beyond its familiar remit and its usual audience in an attempt to bring its unique resources to schools for the first time. Pilot work funded by the Victoria History Trust has been undertaken in three areas of the country, Codford in Wiltshire, Warter in the East Riding of Yorkshire and the city of Bristol, the results of which will be gradually mounted on this, the www.historyfootsteps.net website.

The VCH has over the past few years made great progress in making its work more accessible through a variety of means and it is hoped that the tremendous work done by these pilot groups will encourage many more schools and local groups to become involved and to help us bring local history in context to a whole new generation.
